Honey Extraction Course – Morning Session

January 4, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Like many beekeepers in the Canberra Region, you would have experienced the nectar flow and honey production taking place during this season.

Our 20 strong mixed hive apiary in Fyshwick has also experience the results of this flow which has resulted in honey that we will be extracting, which gives us the opportunity to run a course on this activity.

We envisage running this event as a course/demonstration. It will show and facilitate participation in:

-Taking honey from the beehives, which is what to look for and when to take.

-The honey extraction processes utilising honey spinners and comb press.

This course is aimed directly at the Beekeeper who feels unsure of the extraction process, and will utilise the equipment typically available to the urban beekeeper, and will require attendees to get in and have a go.

This Course is to be run on Saturday 13th January.

Please note, places on this course will be limited to approximately 30 individuals. Cost – gold coin donation.

Bookings can be made here.
